Earlier today I made a post about the book event I went to. I thought you might be fun if I also did a book haul!
My friend and I were really looking forward to going to this event. We ended up forcing our project group to come with us. The event was basically a huge hall with only books! Cheap books!
I bought 6 books for just €20,-! 2 out of 6 were for my brother so, I have 4 books to show you guys. I hope you enjoy!
Let’s get into it!
Young, Gifted & Dead by Lucy Carver
– You can’t get into St Jude’s Academy unless you’re gifted, talented and supremely rich. New girl Alyssa is on a scholarship and feels like an outsider – she’s not even that smart, apart from her photographic memory (and that’s cheating, right?). Then one day her room-mate Lily is found floating face down in the lake. It looks like suicide, but, torn apart with guilt and grief, Alyssa is convinced that things aren’t as they seem. Soon a jolted memory puts her on the trail of a sinister secret that might hold the clues to Lily’s suspicious death. –
I’m really excited about this one. It reminds me a little of the Charley Davidson series. I really like books where the main has to solve a murder.
Fated by Alyson Noël
– Strange things have been happening to Daire Santos. Animals follow her, crows mock her, glowing people appear from nowhere. Worried that Daire’s having a breakdown, her mother sends her to stay with the grandmother she’s never met, who lives on the dusty plains of Enchantment, New Mexico. There Daire crosses paths with Dace, a gorgeous guy with unearthly blue eyes. –
It sounds very promising. I’m curious what it’s about.
Flying Blind by Deborah Cooke
– Zoe Sorensson is a perfectly normal teenage girl. That’s the problem. She’s always been told she’s destined for great things – she is a dragon shape shifter, a Pyr, and the only female one of her kind. But Zoe’s powers are AWOL, so she’s sent to Pyr boot camp. Zoe quickly realizes that she has to master her powers yesterday, because the Pyr are in danger and boot camp is a trap. The Mages want to eliminate all shifters and the Pyr are next in line -unless Zoe and her friends can work together and save their own kind. –
Winging It by Deborah Cooke
– Zoe Sorensson yearns to come into her powers as the only female dragon shifter. But being part of two worlds is more complicated than she expected. It’s bad enough that she’s the target of the Mages’ plan to eliminate all shifters – she also has to hide her true nature from her best friend Meagan, a human. For her sixteenth birthday, all Zoe wants is one normal day, including a tattoo and a chance to see hot rocker Jared. Instead, the Pyr throw her a birthday party but ban Meagan from attendance, putting Zoe in a tight spot. Things get even worse when Zoe is invited to the popular kids’ Halloween party and Meagan’s left out. Zoe knows the party is a trap laid by the host, an apprentice Mage. When Meagan gets a last-minute invite, Zoe must save the day – and her best friend – without revealing her fire-breathing secrets –
Both Flying Blind and Winging it are part of the Dragon Diaries trilogy!
I’m also really excited about these 2! My friend also bought them!
I’m really happy with the books that I bought. I purposely didn’t read reviews, because I didn’t want to have a opinion before reading them. I’m the most excited about Young, Gifted & Young and the Dragon Diaries. I’m not sure I will read first. Reviews will surely follow!
I really felt like doing a book give away, but I wasn’t sure if there was any interest. Also, I wasn’t really sure which books to pick out. So if anyone is interested in a book give away, please let me know and I will try to make it happen!
I hope you enjoyed!
